Dustin Ellis
Founder and primary builder
Before starting Rethrow, Dustin spent 5+ years as an AWS Senior Solutions Architect working with financial services, retail, and entertainment customers. He is a Kiro Developer Ambassador and 10x AWS certified, with experience in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and product management. Before technology, he served in the United States Marine Corps and studied business and computer science at the University of Georgia. Today, he is focused on making it easier for the next generation of builders to both create software and own their technology stack.
Left AWS after 5 years as a Senior Solutions Architect to build full-time.
Incorporated the company and established business foundations. Wrote a blog on the limitations of traditional vibe-coding platforms, seeding the idea for Rethrow.
Applied and became an AWS Activate Startup. Began researching emerging AI protocols like MCP, ACP, A2A, and AP2.
Participated in the AWS Global AI hackathon (13k+ builders) and experimented with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.
Accepted to exhibit and pitch at Startup Grind Global Conference in Palo Alto, CA.
Began creating the MVP for Rethrow migration platform. Researched agentic workflows using GitHub Actions and Kiro CLI in headless mode.
Applied and accepted into Launchpad Tech Ventures summer '26 startup accelerator cohort. Continued building the MVP on AWS.
Applied and accepted as a Kiro Developer Ambassador. Kiro is the agentic harness that powers Rethrow, and is built and maintained by AWS. Presented the Rethrow migration engine on the Kiro livestream.
Graduated the Launchpad startup accelerator and accepted into Launchpad Ignite for ongoing startup advisory & GTM support.
Vibe2Cloud rebrands as Rethrow AI. The name comes from a common software term where errors are caught and rethrown for debugging and remediation — and honestly, we just love the name Rethrow. 🙂
Building version 1 of Rethrow migration engine and studio. Opening private beta for exclusive testing with early adopters.
General availability of Rethrow for US-based customers. Accepting partnerships and scaling the platform through Q1.
